243 rifle-which one is best?
Posted On 06/05/2010 17:18:15 by Carrie Sue

Ya'll,

I need your help!  My husband is turning 40 this year and I have booked a hunting trip for him....he know NOTHING about this!!  Anyway, he is going to Alabama to hunt deer and his 243 was stolen a while back, so, here is where you guys come in!  I need help figuring out which brand, type or even a different kind of rifle to buy him.  Since we live in Florida....he needs something he can use here when he's not on a trip his lovely wife booked him.

Please give me all the feedback you can! I am a woman buying a gun for a man as a surprise....this is not always a great idea, but he's halfway dead.....40 years old.  Not laughing too hard, cause I'm right behind him!

It all falls down to how much money you want to spend ?  people will tell you this is the best gun made but you dont know if anyone has tried them all to find out,, ive not but I can say this and it still comes down to money,, ULTRA LIGHT ARMS model 20 and KIMBER 84M is too of the best centerfire guns made but you are looking at a lot of money?  if you are looking for a real good gun that dont cost a lot I would say BROWNING ABOLT this is one of my main deer guns I have had it for years dos the job and never breaks,, I would go with 7mm08 or 308 caliber a 243 is a good caliber and allaround gun but for a straight deer gun I like more lead not to much but more than a 243  I use 280 and 35whelan and 45/70 and 308 caliber for deer but I like the 280 the best no kick to hurt you and its the browning and it has been a good gun .
